Great Waters Challenge: Year 2
Hi, I am sorry that it's been awhile! I have been busy prepping for an amazing upcoming school year, which brings me to the GREAT news that I have to share!
I am very excited to announce that I am a new Youth Advisory Board Team member for year two of the Great Waters Challenge! This time it will be slightly different, as we are aiming to engage youth teams (grade 4-12/ages 8-18) in uncovering how water has shaped their identities and communities as diverse Canadians.
Students will plan a water action day for their peers through a series of three challenges, including adventurous assignments, and water workshops at their school, or webinar online. The Great Waters Challenge is curriculum aligned, workshops/webinars are free, and supplies for water action days will be provided! The water workshops will be hosted by the various Youth Advisory Board Team members that span across the country. Throughout these challenges and workshops, youth will uncover water stories in their communities, learn about water issues that are impacting their watersheds, and overall will build their knowledge of water and connections with water.
We can't wait to help youth discover more incredible water stories this year, and we hope you are too!
